Just to be clear, there is no such thing as a .54 gear. It is the combination that ends up giving you .54, the actual gear is a .72.

Read the top above the chart: http://garage-scene.com/t5-into-ag-body ... ratios.htm

With 3.73z , on my daily commute, I always found myself being "stuck" between 4th and 5th.

Revs too high in 4th, to low in 5th (effective ratio of 2.01!!). Almost 50% ratio drop is too much for a small block, now behind a Pontiac 400........

I paid attention to the lowest rpm the car liked (1150), did some math and then put in the 4.11z.

It is perfect and fun.

Thanks, I have never seen that chart before and it's useful to pick out some gears. I like the 3.08 in mine since I don't drag it. It gives me long enough gears to make me happy and I can play on the highway in 4th past the speed where the car gets towed if I get caught and in 5th it's nice to cruise in and if need be it still works if I need to quicken the pace

Is there a preferred BOP bell housing to use in our cars with full length headers or does it matter?

If you're concerned about the linkage set up for the clutch I use a Howe hydraulic through out bearing so it's just a braided line going into bell housing from the master.
