Possible winter storage mouse repellent- it’s that time of year!

Looking up something my sister mentioned about Peppermint oil to repel mice from moving in. She had made an oops and got two Lemongrass oils for her vacuum to not smell like our puppy dog. When I did this came up

It comes in a small bottle and be used sparingly. She mentioned it would have to be done mulitple times over the coarse of the winter it also comes in tins,some type of balls, and even plug-in replacements from the brand "Tomcat".
I'm going to try it on my car and possible my storage area(I've been feeding them "mouse-be-dead"stuff). Just watch how much you use and that you like the smell in the spring! Hope this works and helps!!

I had good luck with moth balls placed in a pan. In a closed car the odor is pretty obnoxious.

One winter I had closed the garage door not knowing a cat had snuck in. Many weeks passed before I needed to go back in. When I opened the door that cat ran out like he was on fire. Looking around I found many turds under the car. He had been living on any mouse that had made the bad decision to enter the garage.

Can't guarantee, but I have a park model cabin in the woods and Irish Spring works great. When I open in the springtime, I never see droppings anymore. My wife is also a huge believer in peppermint oil as well.

I've got dryer sheets shoved in crevices of 3 vehicles and don't see any mice or evidence of them, but I don't go looking either. I've also used bars of soap in a ziploc bag with holes in it. As stated by others any smell will fade and need to be reapplied but these don't have the lingering stench of moth balls. Or anyone's balls.

I’ve seen them used to pack their nest with them. But a lot of people do use them so they work!

So next time the cat comes to visit, put out a tray of kitty litter! No wonder the bugger ran for it, probably needed to find a tree to water in the worst way. Needed some variety in its diet. Not much meat on the average field mouse, mostly bones and squeak.

I have been using cut up bars of regular Irish spring soap for years and have never had an issue. I just put the peices all over the inside of the car. Glove box , trunk, under seats ect. Been working for me and helps keep the interior from getting musty smelling.
