The Monte SS has clips off the rear bumper mount to slide an L-bracket ( welded to the exhaust ) into. This will hold up the exhaust without having to see those hangers.

No the problem with chrome or stainless tips is that you can see the exhaust bend down around the tanks and out the back. IMO the Stainless or Chrome tips leave a very noticeable transition which I don't like because you can see it from the side. On my car I painted the stainless tips black like the rest of the exhaust on the car.

In the link is not my car but this is the exhaust I bought for my MonteSS, you can see a couple of pics of the L-bracket I was referring to

I was actually thinking about getting some 18" chrome tips and painting the other part of the exhaust black with heat resistant black paint. That way the dull steel to chrome won't be as noticeable from the side view. And with the 18" chrome tips there wouldn't be much of that dull steel (steel painted black) shown because the 18" tip would pretty much cover most of it. Then I was going to get some chrome hangers.

I don't have a way to weld the chrome tips on myself so I was thinking about buying the tips and then taking it back to the place where I had my exhaust done at and getting him to weld them on both exhausts. How much do you think he would charge?

I went with the summit 2.5 dual setup and apart from not having the right headers that matched up right went in pretty smooth. Got a pic of my custom x member just before I cut out the sections for the pipe to run thru. Pretty easy x member mod. Modified it a little more recently for my 700r4 swap.
