Would a Pontiac powered Cutlass be allowed to play?

Sorry, but Pontiacs should stay in their own neighborhood.

RITTER gets 1 demerit for posting a Chubby powered time and has to take a time out.

I know I'm in the land of Chubby powered Cutlasses, but surely there are more guys here with Olds powered Cutlasses that have some track times to post? 🙁

I mean the actual car itself seems to get a better launch than a GBody. I had a friend up in MI that has a Regal with the 572 crate engine and he only runs mid 12's at Miland.

Mid 12's with a 572?????
He has issues somewhere and I can assure ya that it's not the type of car it's in.

Just doesn't hook :|

When are you planning on going Double V? I want to take mine to 42 for a couple passes soon. Just need to take care of the leaking trans and fix whatever is loose in the front end and I think it should be good to go. Hoping for 15s, but thinking it will be in the 16s.

I want an Olds motor for my 83 Monte Carlo is that a crime for crossbreeding. Its still Gm. I once had a 72 chevelle with a 455 olds in it. Bought it that way. Ran quite well but sold the motor to pay for another project.

The plan was Friday April 15th at 42, but 42 has pushed back their opening Friday T&T to May 6th, so that's when I'm going weather permitting. I will be meeting Beeterolds ( Doug ) and classic gbody ( Brian ) down there. I'll probably go with a couple other buddy's too if they want to tag along. If you go, we shouldn't be too hard to spot since we'll most likely be the only Oldsmobiles there.

What is your car combo? You should do better than 16's if you got a tuned 350, a decent exhaust, and good gearing.

That may be perfect for me. Going to a concert Thursday night and will probably be taking Friday off.

I don't know what the car will run. It feels like it could be in the 15's, but not sure. The gears are the crappy stock ones, probably 2.14 or something. I am assuming there will be traction issues also.

Not sure what gear he runs. I do know he runs the factory rear suspension setup, aftermarket arms and whatnot, but the factory design with an 8.5" :? Just doesn't make sense to me sometimes. That car should run a whole lot faster. But then you'll see factory Buick GS 455 go out and run the same times

Sounds like this car has a peg leg rear end and regular street tires. With a posi and slicks I could just about guarantee that the car would hook just fine. Even with the stock setup under the rear.
I also have a 71 442 with a 455 in it and with slicks and nothing else it will run 13.0's and occassionally when the weather is good dip into the 12.90's. Now with that being said.... the same car with the regular street tires on it, you'd be lucky to feather the throttle enough to get 13.90's to 14.0's.
