Today I replaced the distributor cap and rotor, it was the original. I broke the distributor. So I go to junk yard and got one. Im not paying 135 dollars for a new one. I come home put in it line up top dead center etc. Car doesnt start. I even went as far as to put on my other ingnition module with no effect. What is going on peeps. I ran my battery dead too. I charged it yet now it still seems as though I have a dead battery. Did I get a bad disbritutor or something?

Did you check and see if you are getting spark? If it has spark, its probably in wrong or firing order is wrong.

well

I have some spark but just barely. Not only that but when I go to start its acting like a very bad battery which is not possible. Its like huh huh huh ha. Just barely hummin

are you sure the distributor isn't rusted so badly that it doesn't want to turn?

nah

the gear is fine and works perfectly. I just checked all my plug wires and plugs on the dist. they are all in the right spots too. I even went as far to take my old ingnition module I know thats works perfectly back on. I think the only conclusion would be that my dist. from the junk yard is broken correct guys.

Check the battery, it might be bad and wont hold a charge.

Did you happen to stab it in 180 degrees out? It happens more often than you think. It won;t start in that case, but may spit flames through the carb or throttle body because it is firing on the intake stroke.
