It seems I have the most posts on this site how many times I need help cause my car doesn't want to get fixed.

My problems now, I got the car running got the exhaust on and everything.
the gaskets and all.

The car engages so good I can get the car sideways with just a tap of the gas its really good.
But I have a few problems.
1. I have to hold the gas and the brake when I stop at lights, signs etc if I don't it will die out.
2. when I let go of the gas sometimes it will stay started but it will like bogg pretty bad like its missing a fire or something.
3. My shift indicator is still way off I cant even put it in reverse sometimes or park, i have to fight with the column then it will go into gear.
4. I have to manually shift my gears 1st 2nd and then 3rd or it will just not go into gear, If I keep it in D it wont shift so now I do it manually.

Those are the problems I can think of off hand but I know there are more, I appreciate all your views and your help.
I just need this car gone or fixed to where I don't have to worry about my family getting to places safely and on time, and not die out and be late or miss appointments or work.

I am just getting tired of this project, which was never suppose to be a project but turned out to be one when all these problems arose.

But thanks for the help in advanced.

probs 1 and 2 sound like a carb setup/tuning issue. possibly a vacuum leak.
3 sounds like the usual problems with headers and the shifter linkage.
4, not sure, but most likely it's internal. what kind of trans?

I fixed all the vacuum lines but I might have missed or not seen one, but I will check everything.
I tried everything with the linkage and nothing has helped I think i might just live with it.
I thought it was the old 200 but the guys who put the engine in said we had a 350turbo but I have not a clue.

Alrighty, I guess I will just go back and check everything to see if I missed a line or maybe my carb is still acting up.

Well...that would explain why the cable broke...and the issues with the gear selector. If the trans has the word METRIC written on the bottom, its a 200...otherwise, square pan means 350. Good luck!

sounds like you linkage is out of adjustment. had the same problem with my car. also sounds like a bad vacuum modulator. or you have some lines going to the wrong spot.

A th200 pan almost looks like a th350. The only difference is the th200 pan has 11 pan bolts and is a little smaller in size its the same shape as a th350 pan but a 350 has i belive 14 bolts. If it a th200 on the drivers side of trans there is a plug for torque converter lockup. If you have this its a possiblility the lockup selinoid is going bad unplug it and see if it helps.
