I have deep seeded interests in taking a 4.3 pontiac or 301 powered car and dropping in a 400 or 455 in and keeping it ugly. Nobody would know :)

Waiting for nice weather!?!? You are in Texas. Try moving to the great white north, then you can use that excuse :p

The 301 Turbo blocks are actually very beefy, 4 bolt mains can be added, they are thick there. A few have added 326 or 350 cranks cut down, decent heads and either cut and modified or custom cast intake manifolds. The 4.3 V8 should be the same as the 80-81 301's which were all thicker Turbo blocks but have a 3.75" bore vs the 301's 4" bore.

So this car has taken a back seat to the Salon I purchased 8 months ago. I have a ton of parts for it, but the Salon is in better condition, and the engine is less expensive to build. With that said, I have thought about selling this car many times to free up space, and use the money to finish the Salon. So far I have resisted that urge. I get my shop space back in 3 weeks, and will have more room to work, and store parts. I'm pretty sure I am keeping this car, and maybe sell some of the engines I have, and some GBody parts I have been hoarding, in order to finish the Salon. So with that said, I was at the JYard today, and got a few things I can use for this car. Black interior parts...
