What r u doing with the 260?

hmmmmmmmmm

It's been a couple of weeks, and I went on vacation for a few days, but I have gotten a few things done. I received my shipment of Salon body parts from a Forum Member. Thanks Phil! I got a pair of 442 doors complete with glass & door panels ( no chrome rocker panels ), a pair of 442 fenders complete with inner fenders, bumper fillers & side markers ( no chrome rocker panels ), and a header panel complete with headlight bezels, turn signals, & grill ( hood ornament delete ). This is the cleaner look I'm going for.

These parts are 41 years old, so they all need a little work.

WHICH GRILL DO YOU PREFER???

I bought (2) body panel stands at Harbor Freight, today. I used my 20% off, and got free LED light w/ batteries included. $17.31 each. I bought one, took it to the truck, came back in and bought another with 20% off, and got another free light. Lights come with a built in magnet, and a hook. Can't beat that.

I also received my Motive Gear bearing kit. I ordered it from my Employer, LoL. I got the kit with Timken bearings.

I took my Wife to Dallas yesterday to spend a week with her Mom. While there I dropped off the 8.5" rear axle with a friend who builds them. I am trading him the 3.73 gears the rear axle came with, for his 3.08 gears ( I have a T-350 trans at the moment, I want to get some miles per gallon, this is not a race car ) He is going to go through it, install the bearing kit, and set up the gears. He texted me today, and said it was very clean inside - Nice! It will be ready when I go back to pick up my Wife this Thursday. I already have all new brake hardware, and aluminum drums. One big thing off the "To Do" list.

Today, I assembled the new body panel stands, disassembled the front fenders ( inners, fender trim, bumper fillers & side markers ) and pulled the front windshield. By myself...

I also picked up some new convoluted tubing ( wire loom ) while at the swap meet at Cruisin the Coast. (6) rolls for $5. I got some painter's tape, and some scratch pads.

I'll be restoring the engine, headlight, and taillight harness before the next update.

Nice progress James. I like the top grille in the picture better too. I agree, it looks sportier.

Top one is like the 70 Supreme grill and the bottom is like the sport grill on my 70S. Both have their merits. Those doors and fenders look in really nice shape.
