So it's been about (5) weeks since I updated this thread. I have been really busy at work. Amazon, so yeah... Since then I have acquired a new project car ( yeah, I really needed that). It's a 1987 Mercury Grand Marquis Colony Park (Woody Wagon). It was free, had a clear title, and the original keys. I worked on it for a week cleaning it, removing the old purple tint, and locating a few parts, but have since put it on the back burner. I have GBodys to work on!

There were (5) in the barn. (4) inside a lean-to next to the barn, and (1) parked outside behind the barn. Me and (2) lifelong friends went and rescued (3) of the cars. I named them MORNING WOOD (mine), BIG WOOD, and WOOD YA? We got lots of looks and pics on the way home.

302, AOD, 8.8" , tan leather interior, fully loaded.

Now back to GBodys...
This is where I'm at right now. Last weekend I pulled the body off the frame using my Quick Jack and a couple of 4x4x8' pieces of wood. I did it by myself, as I usually do all the work by myself. Surprisingly, all the body bolts came loose with by hand using nothing more than a 3/8" ratchet and 15mm socket. I coated them the best I could with PB Blaster the night before. I was a happy camper!

Very happy with the condition of the body mounting holes.

Some of you may have seen that I was looking for the passenger side kick panel with the optional litter bin. One had come up last month on this Forum in the Classified section, and I missed it by a few hours. It sold for $50. These are pretty hard to find, as they were only offered by Chevrolet for (3) years in the 78-80 Malibu, Monte, and Elco. Well I found one! It's in really good condition, with no dry rot, or gouges in the plastic. It's also in the rarest color... Sage Green, but that will change. Another rare option added to my GBody. I paid $20 for it. I consider that a nice score.

I don't know if I have ever seen a frame that clean in its original "patina" condition. When I started working on Gbodies they were still being made and we were already patching frames behind the rear wheels up here.

Not bad for a 41 year old car... It should be pretty easy to get clean, and painted.

It took me a year and a half to find this one. It was so expensive, I don't even want to post how much I paid for it. I'm pretty good at negotiating, but there was no negotiating the price on this. They are so rare, when I saw he was selling it, I just jumped on it, and said YES.
