BUILD THREAD Project long time coming

Thing was used up! Lucky for you TDP uses the good billet keys (chromoly) and not the garbage ones ("billet" powdered metal, highly consumable) like Tick.
Agreed! That's one of the reasons I sent it to them instead of elsewhere. Took a week longer because they were out of the keys and had to wait for them to come in

Spent today in the garage. Never seem to make it as far as you want but progress is progress.
Got the ATI balancer installed, ps pump bracket with pump and alternator installed. Coolant cross over from head to head done. I'll need to make a little bracket to move the #1 ignition coil a little because it hits on the alternator.
Ordered two coolant sensors. One for the Holley, one for the Classic Instruments cluster. Had to get some M16x1.5 plugs for the water pump and the oil bypass adapter for holes that aren't used.

Well more parts arrived today. Plugs for the ICT oil bypass and water pump, and the serpentine belt. Couldn't use any of them 🤣 I ordered the wrong length belt, and the plugs aren't tapered, so they just keep screwing in. Found a drain plug i could use on the water pump, but i need an allen head for the ICT bypass block to clear the oil pan. Looks like a tapered M16x1.5 plug isn't made 🤬

So instead I ordered a new ICT block that doesn't have the M16 threaded hole...
Also wanted to get my fuel fittings all set but I'm still waiting on one to show up, and when I looked for the Low Doller pressure sensor I couldn't find it. Got ahold of the guy that bought the old engine and I left it on the fuel rail. So I ordered one of those as well.
One step forward, two steps back. Hope to have another update later this week. Fingers crossed🤞

Today was finally the day. Started by getting the engine off the stand so I could bolt the flywheel and clutch on.

Went to install the bellhousing and found a broken bolt in the engine block where the bellhousing bolts on. Spent two hours but got it out.

Bolted it on and then hooked a battery up and cranked the engine over to build oil pressure with no spark plugs in it to get it primed.
Then bolted the freshly rebuilt T56 on and got it to sit just right on the chain so I could slip it into the car.

And slid it home by myself. Was easier than I thought with the transmission. Just had to take it slow.

Not much tonight, installed the water pump, new thermostat, tensioner, and serpentine belt.

Worked on the Holley wiring harness a little. Needed to move the fuel pressure sensor wiring since it will be moving from the drivers side front, to the passenger side rear of the engine.

As soon as I dropped the engine in, I realized I was.going to have an issue with the high pressure line going into the ps gear box. Pulley was too close. Most don't, but they run the engine all the way back, and I can't with the T56. So fall back and punt.
I found a 90° AN fitting from Lee manufacturing and it fit the bill. Still had to use a washer between the ICT adapter plates and the motor mount clamshells to give me enough room but I'll take it. Can still change the belt too.

Been working on the wiring and exhaust. Had to sand the header flanges down as I had a leak on both sides. Flanges must've warped when they were welded during manufacturing. Got it as close as I could and used a little dab of high temp rtv in the two spots. Should work. Fingers crossed.

Got the headers installed, O2 sensor, and the rest of the exhaust. Hopefully done under the car.

Whats the OD of your PS pulley?
300-202 is 5.142" and fits common pressed on P series pump..

If you're running a type-2 pump, turn one performance has a slew of pulley options

Yeah, but I'll but be CRANKING this engine, and don't want to overspeed the pump. I'll already be working the h3ll out of it and I'll probably have to add a ps cooler. Don't want to make the issue worse.

Intake is on, wiring is mostly connected. Need some odds and ends. IAC valve, coil harnesses, 1/8"npt x 1/4" hose barb elbow for the steam vent, custom AN hose for my ps line, and a couple of other things.

Very clean install. It's good for my OCD.
