BUILD THREAD Project Olds Cool (Recognition!!)

Get that eye fixed up.. nice to put a name with a face

D,
I'm glad to hear that the trip went well, despite contending with your eye situation and having this joker keeping you waiting. You'd think he'd be more considerate, especially knowing you'd be traveling long distance to get there.

Also, it was a nice diversion being able to stop off and meet Duke and get the grand tour of his shop and project.

Glad you were able to get back and forth safely and uneventfully. Also glad that you were able to score the doors. After all, that was the object of the trip, right?

Hope your eye issue gets resolved quickly and painlessly.

Thanks for all your concerns and well wishes everyone!

I got my eye seen to at the ER today, and got good news: It definitely isn’t a corneal ulcer. This is the best news I could’ve hoped to receive. The doc figured it might’ve been something called iritis, where the perimeter of the iris and pupil gets irritated. I wear contact lenses, so this might’ve been the culprit.

At any rate, I’m to continue taking these cortisone drops that I started taking on Saturday when it first became irritated, and gradually taper them off over the next couple of days. If no irritation persists after that, I’m good to go!

So now that all that nasty business is done with and outta the way, I can focus (pardon the pun) on getting this thread back on track.
I’m going to do an update on the doors that I picked up here pretty quick, but in the meantime I’ve been picking away at getting some more of the trim sanded (for the brushed effect) and installed on the car so I can get the weatherstripping and quarter glass windows back in it.

Tonight I finished up the passenger’s side inner “A” pillar trim, and got it installed and fitting nicely with the drip rail and side windshield pieces. As I mentioned before, these have to go on before the weatherstrip channels can, so that’s why I’m concentrating on them now.

I love the contrast between the brushed trim and the dark metallic grey, I think it’s gonna look really sharp when it’s all together.
What do y’all think??

The driver’s side windshield trim is already done and ready to go on, but I still have to finish the drip rail and inner “A” pillar trims for that side. They’re already started, but need to be finished and installed, so that’ll be next.
I also still have to get the upper windshield one done, so many mouldings.....!!!

Till next time,

D.

The brushed trim looks really sharp D. I think that’s gonna be an amazing effect for the car.

Very fine work; as usual. The contrast looks really amazing !!!!!!! 👍

Looks real nice!

Looks great! I love the contrast.

Thanks gents!

I’m working on the same pieces for the driver’s side as we speak, with any luck I’ll have them done and installed by the end of the night...
🙂

If I do, pics will follow. (Of course)
