Working on finishing up the brakes for the wagon. It didnt start out well. I had 3 lines at the proportioning valve leaking. It looks like I got that fixed. Of course the brake fluid peeled the paint behind it. I guess I have to live with that.
The issue is I cant get fluid out of the rear bleeders. From what Ive read the cause is in the proportioning valve. The thing inside moved so the rear is blocked off. How do I get it to the middle again ? Every video Ive seen shows a little tool that goes in place of the switch when you bleed it. I never got one of those and Ive bought two new valves. Is there an easy way of doing this ??

I've never had one stick. I did have a problem with bleeding my rear drums, though. The shoes were worn allowing the wheel cylinder to travel too far. Make sure the rears are adjusted correctly, first. My one person bleed works pretty well. I open the bleeder, and put a hose on into a bottle. Set the bottle on the floor, and let it gravity bleed. Once it starts a siphon, pick the bottle up, and get the fluid level above the wheel cylinder- secure the bottle. Then, I slowly work the brake pedal and watch for air once back at the wheel. Shut the bleeder, and on to the next.... Works well

There's a video on YouTube titled When Your GM brakes Won't Bleed or something like that. Fella is working on a square-body pickup, but it's the same problem, I think, that he outlines solving...

Hope it helps. I honestly don't remember how good the video was. It's been a while.
