Putting together a 7.5 rear with GN axles-which C clips?

There should be a local shop that builds rear ends. They would probably have used c clips that you need and that wouldn't cost you much. For the c clip eliminators I have never seen them not leaking. You'll find a bunch of threads on other formus dedicated to finding a way to stop the leaks

From what I understand the diameter is too big to even get into the carrier. Can you grind the outside edges a little bit?

I put 87 GN axles in my 87 Monte SS's stock posi rear and also had to open up the C clips inside slot. I first went to a very big differential shop in Tulsa and he said it was the only way you can reinstall a C clip with that set up.

Got a digital caliper and a dremel and just barely took out a bit of material. Went together just like factory. Thanks for the tips guys. Pin went in a little tight and the damn fill plug with seized shut but I got it done. Still gotta bleed brakes and put new studs in one axle. Hoping for a nice quiet run while I break in the trans on the stands.

that rearend we grinded the clips on is still holding up in my buddies GP with a LT1 dishing out some decent torque!

For anyone that needs to know, there are no c clips for this modification. You have to open up your original c clips. The size difference between the 2 is pretty big. Put on a rear end cover with a girdle for extra support and the little 7.5 rear can take up to 350HP.
