why do u say the element isn't bad? the spring might have lost is "sprung" and even though visibly it looks good it isn't.

I would pull it apart. I have seen where the rod slips out of the coil and doesn't engage/disengage properly.

I've had it apart dozens of times. The element is just as springy and in the same shape as all the others I've tested and have.

I have 5 stock quadrajets that have never been messed with, and the choke is all set up EXACTLY like mine is. I have no idea whats wrong with it. I may try swapping the housings in case the linkage is bent or something stupid like that.

if you have 5 others why not try one of the others and see if that solves the problem????

you tested the volts but did you make sure the ground is good on the plate the spring sits on?
