Quadrajet Ports: Manifild or Ported Vacuum?

Anything below the throttle blades is manifold. Anything in the venturi is ported.

Manifold vacuum will have vacuum when the throttle is closed or barely open. Ported will not until throttle is opened. For ignition advance you have to decide, when you want it. At idle and low throttle, like cruising OR during load.

A carburetor float bowl must be vented.

you might have to change the distributor it works with the original carb and computer and 02 set up take out the carb and you won;t have any advance i don;t know anything about your efi set up .probably have to go with a stand alone dist 1980 or earlier

Going to EFI yet downgrading to mechanical / vacuum ignition advance is literally taking one step forward and one backward.

i was just saying that there could be a problem with the dist because it won;t work with the new efi is there a dist that will work with his new efi ?
