then again maybe he didn't mean it was a throttle body even thought he said fuel injection, maybe it was a feedback carb.....but still no reason to call me a nasty name...

So if I read this right he put the plate under the carb,? on top of the intake,? that would be a vacuum leak by all definitions, oh well you will both learn from it. I went to a trade school as well and man did we mess up a lot of stuff. Almost twenty years later i can laugh at you guys now, when i taught painters out of school they would do dumb stuff to its part of learning. And kid these guys are busting on you because they can, a few of the guys on here are very smart and have built some amazing cars, with knowledge comes rights..... the right to bust your balls when you say or do something stupid. Now pull your pants up, put down the phone and wrench on something so someday you have the right to pick on some kid

Just a heads up- most guys here are using the Q-jet because they know it is a very sophisticated carb and GM installed zillions of them on cars. Calling it a "quadrapuke" will only get your question passed right over by some very knowledgeable folks. So since you are one of the few that "knows' carbs, I would suggest you really learn this carb inside and out since you WILL be crossing paths with it a lot. Become an expert and YOU will be in demand. Not flaming you, just educating you.

Agreed. The more you learn about the Qjet, the more you'll learn to appreciate how well they actually work.

I was a trade school kid too many, many years ago too. We all probably learned more "what not to do" from each other than from the instructors.

I love when people call them Quadrajunk or similiar names. It means I can get them cheaper when they switch to a Holley. And I can also drive mine without having to tune it when it sprinkles outside  My Quadrajunk is the first thing my friends pick on about my car....but none of their cars run right so i'll live with it!
