here's what I found looking for the ratios that were available in F bodies..

41 : 15 = 2.73
41 : 14 = 2.93
40 : 13 = 3.08
42 : 13 = 3.23
41 : 12 = 3.42
41 : 11 = 3.73

That's preety much what i figured, although i've never heard of the 2.93. Wonder if that was for the 9 bolt rearend or just not a common one for the 7.5. Hell i've got three or four of those ratios in my shed plus the good ole 2.41.

I am still wondering the original question. Will the 7 5/8 work? More info from some of you more knowing gentlemen would be appreciated, since I am new to the G-Body scene myself. I know Vega's, lol.

The carrier from the F-body rear will swap into the G-body rear.
The axles will be too long, and with the upgrade to 28 over the original 26 splines, you'll need to get some axles for a GN or 442.

as I posted above

"as far as the 7 5/8 rear end it will fit in a 7.5 housing and if it's a 28 spline then you'll have to find some GN axles."
