I'm converting my Lemans over to the Blazer front brakes. I bought Raybestos replacement hub assemblies. The hubs have a hole in the center of them similar to the original parts, where the axle shaft would be if 4 wheel drive. The factory parts had a snap in dust cover to fill that hole. That original cover doesn't fit in the new hubs. Has anyone else ran into an issue with this. What have you been using to cover that hole?

Thanks,
Troy

Nobody else has run into this? I'd think it's pretty important to cover/seal that hole to keep crap from getting in there and messing up the bearings. Any ideas of what could be used for a plug?

Go to your local Ben Franklin/Five-n-dime and get a couple rubber bouncy balls out of a gumball machine and stuff in there. LOL!

the dust cover from a 2wd blaze i believe should pop in there.

How about center caps from various GM aluminum wheels? Some indicate ABS. What size is the hole?

Can 4wd hubs be used for the conversion? A few times that I perused the junkyard, there seemed to be more 4wd setups than 2wd. I just thought I'd throw that out there.

The hubs are 2wd specific parts. I did a bit more searching online today. Looks like Dorman sell quite a few different size dust covers. I think they might have something that will fit the larger diameter opening, not the smaller hole like the original parts did. They should still do the job though.

Did you ever end up getting that Dorman cap? If so did it work out? I was thinking about that Dorman cap too cause of debris getting in there.I was also advised to add a little grese in there to to keep it a little cooler. So i think the cap would be pretty important.

I haven't found anything that will snap in. Mine are still open, but the car is also still not driving. At this point I'm hoping the wheels and center caps will do a good enough job keeping the crap out...

Well i looked up a Dorman #13977 and it looked like the right one. Mine is still on stands to as im doing the C5 ZO6 brakes.
