That sucks about your rear going. But the fluid wasn't the cause of your wheel hop. So if your gonna have to rebuild it or replace it, I still recomend aftermarket arms, or box your factory ones. Because wheel hop will kill a rear too.

Yea, i wanna say there is aftermarket arms on there, i'm picking up a rear end tomorrow, then send the one that blew out to get rebuilt.. how would i go about "boxing" the control arms and what does that do?

Boxing: if you notice on the factory ones, they are kinda like a C-channel. You just cut some metal to the shape of the opening and weld it up. That way the trailing arms won't flex. You will also want to somehow brace where the sway bar bolts go through. The factory brace should work, just make sure you tack them in place before you box them. And after all that welding, your bushings will need to be replaced. I would put normal rubber ones on the frame side, and poly ones on the rear side. All this can be done cheap, and will get rid of that wheel hop.

Ok thanks for the info, it was helpfull, i'll keep you guys posted, and see if the problems get fixed after i do some tinkering with it 😀

:bump: .. back to boxing the control arms, does anyone have pictures of the final look? or go into more detail about doing it, i'm gunna try it on some junk ones i'm gunna pull out of a car, before i do it to mine, but i just wanna get a little more info and the how to about the whole operation, thanks again guys

You are basically adding a fourth wall to your control arm. Go to Home Depot or any store that sells sheet metal strips, and find one that just fits over the opening in the control arm. Cut the metal strip to the proper length, and weld it over the opening in the arm. Paint it when you are done, so it doesn't rust up.

This article explains it pretty well.

And if you plan to use a rear sway bar (recomended) You also need to brace the sway bar holes.

ok thanks guys, i'm gunna try that prob next weekend considering i'm sick as a dog right now lol,.. i'll try it and see how it works out
