have taken your current head unit out to see if the wires aren't all butchered up already? I bought a stereo wiring harness for my car also but when I took the old radio out the wires were already cut and spliced and twisted together, and covered with masking tape
i didn't even use the harness i bought. i had to make my own connectors and solder the wires together. if you don't have a dvom i suggest getting one.

you know you will have to cut the radio bezel here a pic of mine if you look close theres a black plastic piece between the bezel and the deck so you cant see the cut and keeping it in place . i have seen peoples cd players fall into the dash cause the cut was a little too big the piece is made by metra you can get it a circuit city or best buy

yup, i have taken it out and its completely stock, never been touched

Go to Wal MArt and buy the harness connector for $10. Get the install kit there too, and then find a 1984-88 Cutlass and pull the trim panel around the radio. Everything should bolt right into place as soon as you make the connections between the radio harness and the adapter harness. You may need to find a constant power source for the radio's memory circuits as I believe you are going from analog to a digital radio. The lighter circuit is constant on and is the circuit later G bodies used for their digital radios, so you can probably tap it there.

Wal Mart sells everything. I bought mine at 2am at the local 24hr supercenter. I don't know about where you live, but around here all of the Wal Marts and most of the Mc Donalds are 24-7.

I am pretty sure i need an antenna adapter for the aftermarket radio, is that correct?

No antenna adapter needed. It will plug right in to the stock antenna wiring as it's a universal part. The last car I did that needed an adapter was a 1991 Nissan Maxima that had some very odd two pronged antenna wire.
