I went to rearrange the terminals on my connectors to swap in a ralley gauge set. This diagram shows a connector #1 and a #2 but my 78 harness does not have a #1. http://tech.oldsgmail.com/eint_rallye_swap.php I'm stuck here unless someone knows what I need to do. I do have a spare mid 80s Cutlass dash harness that has connector #1 on it. Do I need to remove it and wire the connector from it to my harness?

Well, looking at that, you don't have a check engine light if you aren't running the CCC system (wire 1), if you aren't going to keep a dummy light for the coolant then the second lead is not needed (wire 4). The ignition input may or may not be needed (wire 5). I would find wire 5 on the circuit sheet and trace it out to see if it is needed for anything other that the coolant and check engine light. If this is a 78-79 rally cluster, there probably isn't even a check engine light in the housing.

I don't do many cutlass clusters, mainly Malibu/monte/elky. But I do the same things.
