I just recently looked at a cutlass, its an 84 cutlass supreme,307.Its in a decent shape,it was factory blue with blue interior, console and an astroroof. The car has a sloppy flat black paint job and gold stripes, has a rebuilt 307 that blown up because someone didnt tighten down the #1 cylinder main caps, says on the rpo code G72,2.14 gears but owner says he replaced them with better gears and limited slip, also the frame isnt bad, seats are ripped and some surface rust on the doors, rad support cradle and top of quarter panel near b pillar.I need to know how much this car is worth currently,i want this car either way expensive or not.Because of its "rarity" being it has an astroroof, owner wants $1000,is it worth $1000?or is it less.

Well if it has a good body and no rust, I would say get it besides you can always replace that tire shredding 307 with something better or rebuild it. but i would try to talk him down to 800 or 900 first, bring up every messed up detail you can possibly find so he'll drop the price. but i wouldn't feel bad for 1000 if it has no other flaw than interior and some surface rust.

well, next week or so,i'll go down on a nice day, take the flash light, camera and my rpo code list and check out the car to a tee,i'll probably offer him anywhere from $600-800 depending on the conditon. This car also has an aftermarket steering wheel, door lock perillas, silicone on the vinyl top and rubber of astroroof.

rpo codes are not always accurate to begin with when the vehicle is new and then what's been changed since it's been on the road?.....and if it's still there after a week or two then it may be rare but no one is running after it....I wouldn't be checking it out to a tee and show that much interested in it, he might not be willing to deal if he thinks your real interested in it and if it is still there after a couple of weeks I'd give him no more that $5-600

I have my doubts about paying that much for a Cutty in that condition. Speaking for myself I bought a mechanically sound 86 Cutlass with great interior, bucket seats, 4-speed auto on the floor, mechanically running great with a 307 V8. All it really needed was motor mounts put in which set me back 150. and I only paid $1700 for mine. Mind you the paint has quite a few chips in it. Just be patient and wait for a good Cutty to come up at a decent price. You can do much better with $1000

That right there would not make me look twice at this car, therese a potential for hidden rust damage on the sunroof frame and floors.
If you can, remove the sill plate and lift up the carpet to check out the floors front and rear from the inside.
The car is not that rare, if it was a W-40 or W-42 then yes it's pretty rare and worth the $1000.
$700 tops for the car, if it was running then $1000 might fly but if it were me I would just save the $1000 and save a few more clams for something nicer.

With a blown motor, there's no way a car like that is worth more than $500.

There's nicer astro-roof cars out there... that ones already a leaker, not to mention what could be lurking under that vinyl top.
