Well, owner finally dropped by with the cab and hood so we quickly mocked up the body...
Looks promising, seems to me we can take about 4" out of the floor no problem. He likes the looks of a 4" chop... So now the real fun can start!

That does look promising. I was completely on board until you said 4" chop. I hope you guys will reconsider. To me, very few pickups look good with a chop. That vintage already has a pretty bulbous nose and that just makes them look even bigger. I always thought they had great proportions from the factory -- they just need to be lowered. Channeling makes great sense.

I don't like chops either.
Like what Driven or me think will make any difference......🙂

I've helped a few buddies with custom builds, not my cup of tea but fun all the same. One note of caution, make sure you build in easy access for maintenance. Like for instance not having to remove the radiator to change the oil filter........

That had to be an "aw damn" moment!

Yeah, we will see what it looks like with the channel and on proper tires. He already seemed a little unsure when we measured out door jamb height.
End of the day, it's his call... His truck and all...

this is me the "Owner" anyhow im not against keeping the body stock. I have seen a few that have a 4" chop and it looks mean. but even a 2" chop makes it look a little better IMHO. here is a pic of a 2 14 front 2 1/2 rear chop.

I really honestly am OK either way. Figgure we just get it channeled and on the wheels you're going to run and we can see how it looks from there

I highly doubt 1/4" is even noticeable....
Idk, not a fan of conservitive chops.
Either go wild or don't bother IMO

Hey!. It's your truck. So do whatever you want with it. If we don't like it you can sleep soundly at night. 🙂
We all have opinions, mine is absolutely perfectly correct. In my eyes anyway. No doubt your views are also perfect. In your eyes.
We are here to offer help if we can, if you ask what others think sometimes you won't be told what you want to hear. If you want to find out how to do things you aren't sure of you will (mostly) get sound advice.
Keep us posted please, most gearheads can appreciate a well put together car, be it a restoration, rod, or a car built from scratch.
