Those pics show an open one wheel peel diff. There is a fill plug on the differential, you remove it with a 3/8 extension.

I would look for a rearend set up for a gbody and just buy the whole rear end. If you have never set up gears before you won't be able to do it unless you have a good mechanical aptitude and a few special tools. So again, I would just find a rearend that is complete that is what you want.

Thanks Chris But I Don"t Think I Gonna Find Any G-Body Around Here That Aint Crushed Allready Or Kept For Restore Plus More Then Likely If I Do Find 1 Its Gonna Be The Same As What I got Plus Dont Want To Wait For Ever So Unless Their Is A Common Newer Car Or Sum Used Prob Wont Be Might Route Even Though I would Rather Go That Route If Its Cheaper And Easier And As Far As the Mechanical Part I Am Pretty Gd With Most And Plus Would Like To Know How Anyways Thats About The Only Thiing On The car I never done so myswell learn right plus i got 2 cars so i mess up i got another rear right lol but know thats wat the g-body forum is for and youtube and internet is for so i figure it out sooner then later so i am guessin i prob order from summit so any help on that route would be nice like i said thanks again much appreciated 😀

OR SHOULD I JUST GET THIS http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ank/p ... 90378.html Up for sale is a 8.5 inch 3.90 ratio posi from a Buick grand national. It was rebuilt last year with new Richmond ring and pinion, yoke, bearings and seals. Only about 200 miles put on since then. Not rusted, good brakes and brake lines. New qmi full synthetic 75/140 fluid. Im looking for $1000 o.b.o. I AM NOT PARTING OUT A GRAND NATIONAL ITS 800 MORE BUT DIRECT FIT I AM ASSUMING WE ALL KNOW I WOULD RATHER SAVE 800 THOUGH SO ANY HELP WITCH IS BETTER ROUTE THANKS

The GN axle is your best bet and on top of that 1000 bucks for an 8.5 inch rear built up like that is a solid deal especially if you can haggle the seller down a bit.

"Rearend assembly with Richmond Gear 3.90-1 ring & pinion. Non-posi. Bearings, axles, seals, etc. all in good shape. 4.75" bolt pattern, bolt-in style axles. I believe this unit is from a 68-72 oldsmobile Cutlass/442. This axle was in my 66 GTO, works perfectly, and will fit most 64-72 mid size Pontiac, Buick, Oldsmobile, Chevrolet cars with coil springs. Would be a good replacement for the weaker chevy 8.2" rearend. 763*647*0901 "
