rear swat bar spacer

so a week ago i put on a rear sway bar on my el camino and i was looing at the stock spacers and i figured the litle hook on either of them go on something but they dont, anyone now what there for?

that little hook stops the spacer from siting too deep into the u channel and helps to line up the holes
