I think my rear bar is like 7/8". It came out of a '78/'79 Hurst/Olds (car long gone, got it about 25 years ago.)

I've got the 1" UMI and it works well - no complaints.

I got lucky , I won an auction for brand new F & R Hellwig sway bars off Ebay for $170 with no reserve.
The guy bought them for his El Camino years before but never installed them, they even came in the factory boxes.

That Blazer bar, does it only came in 2dr models? Do the 4x4 4dr models have a similar one?
Asking for a friend.....
took this off a 2001 or 2002 2wd blazer last summer. had installed it for a couple days but was unhappy with my install so will revisit it this summer. also will be going with a ford rear so i'll see where it lines up. was under 20 at the pick and pull

The only "factory" upgrade over the stock bar would be the 1" 98-05 4wd 2dr blazer bar that mounts to the frame instead of the LCA. Very similar to what you get in the $180 helwig bar but can be picked up at a salvage yard for ~$20 I've got it on my LS2 t56 GP that runs mid 11's and it has worked great so far.

3rd gen F bodies also had a bigger bar that mounts similar to the blazer bar but the arms that go to the end links flare out and they have to be heated and bent inwards.

that looks like the bar i had a little trouble mounting on my 81 malibu. axle clamps were ok but i had a problem with the front mounting. your front mounting looks like a better spot than where mine was mounted. is that front mounting spot coming off the front of the lower rear control arm? thanks

Mine ended up mounting on the angle bracket between the frame rail and the rear cross member. No fitment issues.

If I only could get my hands on a 2WD Blazer here. All we got imported were 4WD, I've seen a max of 5 2WD in the last 15 or so years. If I could find one, I'll even buy the whole truck to part it out.
