So I got my wheels and tires mounted (rear only). The wheels: a GTA type, 16x8, 6.50" backspacing. 2" adapters, 255/50/16 BFG's.
NO rubbing except on my terrible gravel, bumpy driveway. Am waiting to find a good deal for tires to mount on the front "dimpled" 15x7" GTA rims..........

Looks good, fits the car very well. When you say "GTA type" are they actual wheels from a GTA T/A or are they an aftermarket copy? They look like originals.

Also, where did you get your adapters?

Thanks........I say gta "type" because of the backspacing...........it's 6.50", and I thought that too much for a GTA, TTA or GNX....I am thinking aftermarket for Corvette....

I bought the adapters on eBay, from cjbargins , and was very happy with the transaction. I am now on the hunt for a good deal on some 15" tires (thinking 225/60/15) for the front wheels......by the way, I went to strip the fronts today with aircraft stripper, and all it did was take the clear coat off and didn't touch the paint.........must be some good paint on them....they are gold, and I am trying to strip them to paint them black.

Might have to take them into work and blast them, then sand them down.....

Cool! My buddy has a set of GTA wheels and I might try and steal them off him for my car   Love the look 😀

Loved this type of wheel since they came out....probably gonna find some to put on the 87, for when it is finished. The fit with the adaptors, and the 255/50s really make it look good.....from the back it is just wide as he!!...

I like the rear wheels and the front wheels on that car but not together. Had a friend who ran the 255/50/16 on his GNX with 245/50/16s up front and it looked/worked great. The 255/50/16 is 26.0 tall so the right tire to run with it in the front on a 15" wheel would be a 26.0" tall 235/60/15. I have ran that size on the front of several g-bodys and it looks and fits well.

yeah, looks realy good, bet you enjoy those bfg's, just wait till summer, they are sh*t in the cold. ask me how i know... :blam:
