Rearend/wheel question

If I were to custom order a 9" that's one inch wider on each side would that mean I could run 1" deeper back spacing wheels?
I want boss 338 wheels but have heard some troubles about fitment

Yes, for the stock wheel size. Anything else is a test and fit exercise.

I run a 9" narrowed 1" (total) and am using 3.5" BS Weld Draglites with 26" x 10.5" slicks and there is, at least, an inch of room. I could run 4" BS with them.

I was using 2.5" BS Cragar SS Gold Series with 28" x 10.5" before, and had scads of room, and the tires only stuck out about 1/2" past the fenders.

I have P225-75R-15" street tires on 4" BS Keystone Raiders that also have lots of room. (in the picture below)

so 275/40/18 will work jr?

It should, but not every car is the same. I know there is some that have used those rims but the only name that I can remember off hand is dsellars on maliburacing.com.
