Refurbish original vs tubular after market front end parts

I used poly bushings in stock arms for 10 year and 45,000 miles without issues. Only took them off when I went to tall ball joints and Blazer brakes. Not sure if I had to change out the arms to go with the tall ball joints, but that's what the majority of people do.
 
How much better was that swap? Was it to simply have the bigger brake upgrade? Thanks
 
Actually it was more to get the tall ball joint geometry. The tall ball joints on the lower's lower the car a bit, so that was an added bonus. Since I had the front end tore apart, it was a good time to upgrade the brakes. Handling and braking is much better. the only reason I switched top arms is that most recommend it with the tall ball joints. If you are doing stock ball joints, I'd just keep the stock upper's.
