unless you have done a body bushing change since you got the car you should change those bushings while you have the body off.

Since I did my frame notch before anyone made a kit for it, I made mine where the new pieces fit into the frame so all of my welds were facing the outside of the car, I imagine the kits might need to be welded on the top and bottom which would definitely be easier to weld by lifting or removing the body or you could possibly trim them to fit inside like how I made mine.

I bet you even notched the frame on your go-cart when you were a kid....

Instructions are pretty simple.
Lay the new piece against your frame and draw a line.
Remove the new piece and start cutting.
Bend the filler pieces at a 90 to desired depth to match your notch.
Weld weld weld.

SOUTHSIDE MACHINE PERFORMANCE FRAME NOTCH KIT FOR THE G BODY.
Save time and headache when trying to build your own notch with our kit.
CNC cut to fit all G Body frames. Made from Premium Grade 1/8" (.120") Pickled and oiled steel (HRPO).
Optional 3/16" and 1/4" main plates
This comes with both right and left frame sections and ends to bridge the gap from the notch.
This is thicker and stronger than the factory frame.
This kit requires metal fab experience and can be done in the garage with a decent welder.
Will need a welder, hammer, die grinder and a bench vice.
Due to the Lack of consistency with the G Body frame over the years some minor trimming and will be necessary.
