I been taking parts off a 88 monte and while looking at interior (dash was removed ) I found it had remote passenger side mirror. Can cables from other car be re attached to the mirror head? I never had one Apart whats involved?

Worth the effort ? its free and I see them For $50 and up .

Ok Found out how glass comes out ... There r 3 screws behind it . I may do the power mirror swap thing if From the 88 up F body . I can find controls that look like the one in the 80s G body . going for stock/original look .

Other wise Ill get cable off another Imapla or the like and make work .

Any Ideas??

I've wondered the same about cutlass mirrors. i want a remote pass. side, but i already got my car painted, and was wondering if i could swap internals from a donor remote pass. side mirror into a non-remote mirror.

here's a picture of F-body mirrors on my GP

the same mirrors were used on a Monte SS, but had different mounting base and location. These are mounted farther back than a Monte, using the holes for a normal G-Body mirror.
Some bondo had to be used to fill in the space under the mounting pad, that does not match the door contour.

Mine are not electric, but I was gonna try to install ones off a F-body that were... was wondering the same thing.

The internals r easy swap . There r 3 bolts (glass breakage ) and the guts can be put right in . There is a write up On www.montecarloss.com about the power swap to existing mirror .Worst part seems to be finding right F body or Fiero for the swap year wise.

The cable type should be about the same I'm going to see what I fine any way.

Yea the F body swap is not for me they don't fit or distort doors but swapping out the guts looks straight forward . They showed several switch types I may got for the 2000+ caprice as switch looks almost like the ones in G body .

But the Camaro power switch looks cool and fit monte interior for looks .

Well more research .
