Be sure to spot weld your sway bar spacers in and make sure you have enough room for movement if you are boxing your uppers.

Thanks.. I am planning on spot welding my spacer tubes. Then a quick coat of paint and then I will weld the plates. I have the spacer tubes bolted in to keep them secure for welding..I'm not going to do anything with the uppers. This is just my low budget Bonneville. And from what I've read, boxing the uppers is not good for the rear suspension..timo22

Boxing will be fine, just make sure you leave enough room so the arm doesn't hit the ear through its movement.

Well , I finally got around to finishing boxing my lower control arms . I spot welded the tubes inside the arms and sprayed them with some brown gutter paint. (Only paint I had in the basement). I let that dry and then proceeded to weld my plates on the bottoms. Warning! I really suck at welding but feel like I'm making progress..A little advice for guys not familiar with fabrication, welding and mechanics. Do not be afraid to try! Google is your friend.. Research whatever you are trying to learn and give it a try. Start with small things and work your way up. You will be amazed at what you can accomplish and there is nothing like the satisfaction of doing it yourself. Here are a couple pics of my control arms...timo22

Well, today was a good day. I had previously bought some brand new Goodyear 195-70-14 tires for 30.00. I know new tires for 15.00 each. That just left more in the budget for back tires. I was able to get a pair of Ta radials for 100.00. They are 235-60-14 and are about 90 % tread. So all together ,I have 250.00 in my wheels and tires. Not bad, but that's a quarter of my budget. I'll have to make it up down the line. Going to get some lug nuts at the yards next weekend....timo22
