REPLACE THE CALIPER???

I did a series of hard stops initially. My brakes are working fine and I expect them to get better as time goes on. Thanks. Maybe I should add again, that I upgraded from LS1 brakes that had been on the car for 6 years. They were phenominal! I suppose I expected instant gratification with these due to the larger rotors. Didn't happen yet, but I'm sure it will.

I'm not sure what shims you mean, but I have decided to put small 16 gauge shims behind the brake pad at the bottom of it, between the pad and caliper, hopefully, to push the bottom of the pad close to the rotor.
i was referring to the "dust shield delete shims" that kore3 offers for these big brake upgrades, assuming you are using zq8 spindles? They go in between the spindle and hub,in place of the factory dust fbody(ls1) dust shields(makes for a prettier backdrop when using this style of dual piston set-up) and is just the amount of space you are discribing the pad contact to rotor is not making?

I'm using stock, but modified g-body spindles. The small shims I used at the bottom of the pad, only on the outside of the rotor, has, in only about 15 miles, start to even out the pad/rotor contact across the braking surface. Not sure exactly what the cause for this minor irregularity was, caliper, rotor, or pads, but again, and for all reading, they will wear in, and only a minor glitch. I suppose I'm more cognizant of any discrepancy because the 14" rotor, the Corvette calipers, the Flynbye conversion brackets and the Hawk pads are all new.
