I noticed today I have a hole in one of my brake lines on my car. I haven't drove the car in a while and the rust looks like it finally finished out the line. So I got one side disconnected, and the other line is being a b*tch. I put the line wrench on it after soaking it with pb blast and nothing. I rounded off the fitting so now what do I do? This thing wont budge and I am not sure what to do. Is there a good way to get it off? Should I try to heat it with a torch or what? It is the main line right at the rear end where they split to go to each side. Please help

Cut the line off at the nut and use a 6 point socket to get the nut out. You're replacing the line anyway, right? Or use vise grips.

I used a snap on line wrench ant still rounded it out tried vice grips but that thing wont budge.

Well after lots of cussing and a bloody knuckle it finally broke loose. Now to get a new line bent for it.

I feel your pain. I just replaced all the brake lines in my cutlass. Every time I replaced a line a different line would leak until finally they were all replaced. I had to remove the proportioning valve to get the rounded fitting loose for the rear line.

for anyone looking at this later, a MAPP gas torch and vise grips. don't plan on saving the nut, just replace it and as much line as you can

I am sure there will be more to come but now I will be able to move it safely. The vice grips is what I finally had to use to crack it loose. Should I put thread tape on the ends of the new line when I got to put it back together or what should I use?

unfortunately, you use nothing. any/all sealants will either be destroyed by the brake fluid or will destroy the fluid/brake components.
best thing to do to keep things in good shape is regular fluid flushes.

Turns out the line was patched before there is a compression fitting on one end. Can I get another compression fitting and meet it to that one?

compression fittings are not a good idea on brake systems. get a brake line coupler.
