Replacing Shocks, Any Suggestions

I have KYB's and love them. They were on my other car for over a year and when it got wrecked i used the fronts on this car and thats been 6 months and they still work as good as new. I really like the stiffness and the handling is amazing to me.

Funny. I went from monroe sensa tracs to the kyb's. The sensa tracs felt like sitting on a bean bag chair. Car rolled and was squishy, the kyb's are taut and handle bumps and corners fantastic. They are night and day different. And honestly i havent heard many bad thing about the kyb's and i did alot of checking before i bought them.

How long did you use the front pair? You do need to drive on them i bit to get used to them and they soften up a bit. You may have had a bad shock. But riding around with 2 different shocks front and rear is never a good way to try them out. I have performance springs on this car, actually the same ones i had on the GN, and i drive my car hard thru the corners and dont slow down for bumps or anything. I figure if everything is good with the suspension i shouldnt have any issues, and i dont. You dont like em, well that what the original poster wanted to know. I love em and wouldnt hesistate to buy them again. Everyone who has ever ridden in my car comments how good it handles and rides. Like i said, you a one of very few that didnt like the KYB's. Sorry for your luck.

I do not remember the spring rate, i bought these along time ago. I even forgot the part number, they are Moog springs. Stock height, stiffer rate. Im not into lowering my car really. Im still using the stock arms up front and tubulars in back.
I think having 2 different types of shocks makes it harder for you to concentrate on just the front. Whereas if you do all four you car get a better all around feel.
Yeah, cops here dont appreciate either. But as long as you like you set up up thats all that matters. Im very happy with my set up and only plan to change the sway bars.

Your logic is fine in theory but doesnt work in real world driving. Your mind and body cant differentiate between the how the front handles and the back seperately, unless one set is totally shot and bouncing all around. Shocks are meant to be replace as a set of 4, not just fronts and backs. Just by doing that you compromise the ride of the new one by making them work with a rear set that has different damping characteristics. Having one set trying to adjust to the road and then adjust to what the back is doing as well isnt going to give you an accurate feel of the shocks.
