Two threads about sill plates and everyone had great things to say about the repops.
I ordered a set the other day. UPS dropped them off tonight and I was like a kid at Christmas. Pulled the first one out of the plastic sleeve and went to put it on and right away it didnt seem to fit right. Sitting flush on the rocker leaves a gap at the carpet that I can fit my fingers in. From end to end. Checked the original and its fits perfect. Theres also two small cutouts on the edge that sits on the carpet.
I put the old and new flat on the workbench to see the difference between the two. You guys tell me... Do they all need to be tweaked to fit ? Am I missing something ? Its like the new ones arent bent enough on the back side.
Im calling the seller tomorrow to ask him if theyre all made this way.

Who did you buy them from? Maybe they are for a different GM application.

Nope, theyre for a G body. I just tried to email the vendor but it got kicked back. I'll call him first thing tomorrow.
I just wondered if anyone had had to "adjust " a set to fit.

I laid my new one on top of the old one and it was an exact match and it went on just like the original, you might have ordered one for a gbody and got something else.
I bought mine a few years ago for about $100 for a pair

I don't think the problem is with the angle of the repo part, to me it looks like the repo is shorter inbwteeen the red lines and if you look at the radius of the original for the bend it is alot tigher than the repo part. It needs more than tweaking

Ummm... don't we have a thread highlighting the craptacular build quality of these cars from the factory?
