RFP: Separate Car Club Sections?

Here's my suggestion to try to help with all the problems on here.

When on the forum main page, you have it divided up like this:

GBodyForum.com News
Community
Vehicle Specific
Tech Forums
Supporting Vendors
Classifieds / Products
Forum Related

How about adding another category called 'STYLES', 'PREFERENCE', 'TASTE', 'GROUP', or something like that. Then you can add sub categories under that such as original, restored, drag, handling, bigwheel, lowrider, sleeper, exotic, etc. And have that whole area strict on the no bashing on car type. So that it's an area where people with similar cars can comfortably discuss their type of car.

Just a thought.

I'm all for it still! That way if new people are interested in joining, there could be a specific thread where they could get that goin. And a good place for club specific topics. Not like someone else said with all our build threads moved there or whatever. Just club related business. I think its a Damn good idea. Idk if this I related the the recent problems with "big wheel guys" but I see a lot of that talk in here. I didn't really see it involved with that, just a section for club related things.. ? Lol.

The big wheeled cars seem to draw the most controversy, it seems. You didn't see all that was involved with that because a bunch of the offending posts were deleted. It's not really the constructive criticism that's always the issue, it's the disrespectful comments that quickly escalate into a forum battle that are at issue. I'm of the opinion that if you have nothing nice to say, just move along and don't add your comment saying how stupid something looks or that it's retarded. Adding a bit of separation via a customs/lowrider/big wheels section will let those people know that if they don't like it, don't look in that forum.

After thinking this through, I gotta say that making another section might not do anything to fix the problem. We already have a section for customs and lowriders. The way I see it, we could modify that to include the big wheel cars or "Donks" (I know that's not the correct term the style). If we support that forum section for this, eventually everyone will get the hint, and hopefully stay out of a post if they are only going to bash it.

The only problem with that is I don't want our club to be classified as a "big wheel"/"donk" club. We have members that like and have big wheels and we have a few members that will never put anything bigger then 15's on there car.

Having a section for club related post would be great! I think it could be added to the event section and can be used for new and existing clubs to post meetings, shows, and invites

Just to be clear. This topic is discussing creating a separate forum and (possibly exclusive to members) subforums for the car clubs. NOT splitting off "big wheels" or "donks". like so.

Car Clubs
--Club #1
--Club #2

etc.

If the "1984 GM 3.8 V6 concours restoration society, greater pickwick division" wanted a section in there, they could have it. This has nothing to do with wheels or whatever.

Just so that I'm clear. Will build threads remain where they are now or be moved to this new section?

General interest topics such as build threads should go where they normally do. This'd be for club business, events (with maybe some crossover into the general events section), random club-member BS-ing and conversations, whatever.

See my last post. Irrelevant to the topic at hand. See the other thread discussing this issue.

well my question is ,, will everyone be allowed to browse the club sections or will these be a "members only" type thing! just curious!
