He had a reputation late on of being the stereotypical giant ego d-bag rock star, but he did so much for music and for guitar/amp tech.... I will admit that he was a big influence for me learning to play... 🎸 between the pinch harmonics and neck-tapping, the late '80s VH "compression"... I mean yeah he basically invented that stuff, or at least popularized it.
