Got a 408sbc for my 84 cutlass......the motor is bored .40over with stock gm dished pistons...camel hump heads 64cc ..with screw in studs and 202valves and guide plates..the cam is a muthr thumper hydraulic roller (12-601-8)..cam 522/509....I just want to know about how much HP and torque is the motor going to make...

Going with what you have listed I would guess around 8.0 to 8.5 compression. That cam is WAY to big for the heads and piston that you have.

Pics would help; this sounds like a really bad combo btw. Either the heads or the cam has to change something has to give. Too lobey.

I don't want to start a pissing contest but the combo isn't all that bad. Putting the 64cc heads on it will raise the c/r to about 9 to 1 which will support the cam. Don't know if heads are anything special, I'm guessing the runners are in the 160 range (casting # would help) which is a good fit with the cam which will all in by 5700

Head #is 3917291 camel hump 64cc closed chamber 202 stainless valves. Factory guide plates screw in studs beehive springs for the high valve lift ...I KNOW ITS A BIT OLD SCHOOL BUT. THEY WERE IN GREAT SHAPE SO I TOOK THE TO THE MACHINIST AND GOT THE WORKS SO THEY CAN MATCH MY CAM

NOT SURE ABOUT THE PART NUMBER ONLY BECAUSE I AM across seas however when I return home I will check them out but other than that everything else is correct yes angle plug heads 202 valves screw in studs and guide plates 64 cc closed chamber....and just to save time the steam holes has been drilled into them
