Pull that out of a 8.1 or a duramax? If it was an auto trans should have a 3.73 gear if a manual it should have a 4.10 gear with the gov-bomb... I have had 3 trucks with that axle its just a tad stronger than the 10.5 full floater.

Gov Bomb and 3.73s. I did a vast amount of scouring the Internet trying to find replacement bits to repair the G80. cost me nothing, but let me know that it's about a break even to just swap in an AAM Torsen-style used in the Dodges. I was expecting this, so I asked him to take off the cover. He hesitated, but one look inside and his $850 axle became a $400 axle. I was primarily interested in the disc brakes anyway, and a 14 bolt would probably have had the same Gov-bomb in about the same condition.

What's entertaining is the swept area of the rotors is not that much larger than the F-body rotors I put on my 7.5.

Thats a popular swap with us GM guys, is to take the guts out of a dodge 11.5 much stronger than the gov bomb.
