some guy in my area is renting out a 2 car garage. I contacted him and got a response. I was supposed to go look at it and the guy never returned my messages. I though maybe he had rented it out but surprise surprise, he relisted it for more money. So I contacted him through his new ad with another email account. He responded and I'm looking at it Friday evening. Wonder what he is going to say when if I take and and pay him the lower amount...

All the times I've done selling or buying through craigslist I always take at least two people with me. I'm not the violent type, but I have been known to throw people at other people. But all my transactions have gone smoothly. So far.

I sell stuff on Craigslist and sometimes Racing Junk and I know they are scammers from the very first contact which usually starts off with "Is this still for sale?" but they are never specific about what they want to buy.
Typically if you respond back instantly you don't get a response until the next day which usually has the " I need your info so I can send a check and I will have my shipping company pick it up etc".
Today I had one wanting to buy my 1150 quickfuel carb and they text me back within minutes with the same send me your info line and I responded with "NO SCAMMERS" and had a quick response back of "nope" so then I put "what cubic inch engine is this going on?" and the response to that was "one to give to my engineer that is why i want to buy it from you" I guess my question did not translate very well in his English to whatever language dictionary.

I'm selling a Caprice Wagon on CL and I'm getting tons of these. To each guy I'll ask what there experience is with these cars or ask them something model specific right away. A few people have asked why and I'll explain that it weeds out the scammers If I know you know what transmission it should have or something like that.

As far as domestic scammers there are many of those too. Like it's 2016 and you're too inept to take and post decent pictures and you call is located in the heart of the ghetto? Yeah ok Lemme round up 5k cash real quick.

I am always amazed at the lengths people will go to scam you out of your money , I use craigs list a lot for buying used parts also to sell when you advertise calls only and they text you. you know that is a 98 % indication their scammers I have had so many of them, the last one actually called he thought he had me on the hook, so I went along with him & told him I never got his cashierscheck which was a phony buy the way so he said he would stop the check & send another one ,ok fine he did after him calling to see if I got it I told him that he needed to pick up this strker motor right away, that I needed to get it out of my garage due to moving in two days. ok this gets better, he sent a trucking co. to pick it up. when they arrived I told them you were hired by a scam artist I hope you got your fee up front. they left & I called him & read him the riot act and asked him how it felt to be scammed.
