I had my rear seat covers done at a local upholstery shop to match my Cerullo buckets and they did a great job and were very affordable I even had them do my visors but of coarse since they were affordable they went out of business a few years later after they did my stuff.
The only other place around here has ridiculous prices.

You cannot chrome plastic. Chrome is an electroplating process that only works on metal that can conduct electricity. The "chrome" on plastic is paint that looks like chrome when applied right.

A little off topic but here goes..., It isn't paint.....GM used a process called vacuum metalizing and also a more durable, conventional chrome plating process on plastics. Chrome plating of plastics has been done since the 70's and involves an acid etch and thin coat of conductive coating of nickel/copper prior to the plating process. Ever wonder why a worn out chrome Cutlass side seat hinge cover has a copper hue to it? It's the thin pre coat required for the chroming process. DPM molded most of the G body interior components and outsourced the chroming because it was a nasty process. A lot less people doing it in Michigan now....most of this business moved to Mexico or China due to EPA regulations.

Paint by another name. 😀

Thanks for the info. The "chrome" on my Malibu looks like paint, and where rubbed off there's nothing but black plastic under it. Could be vacuum metalizing, by the looks of it.
