Does anybody know where to get the material to cover my seats? My 1978 Grand Am has custom cloth code 74C Carmine. I'm looking to buy new material and have a local guy do the seats. If I can't get the cloth I will go for the vinyl in Carmine. Thanks!

Hey there Don!
I got mine from
www.smsautofabrics.com

They "said" it was NOS but sent me scraps to piece together. Then said they had to make more
when I said I wouldn't accept what they sent.
What I fianlly did get was "close" to original, so I think that is the best we can do.
It took forever to get my material, but I think they just ran out and had to make more.
Good news is that it looks like they can make it. Very Expensive too...

Thanks Kent! How long ago was it you had that upholstery from them? Can you remember how many yards it took? I am going to send them an e-mail and see what they come up with. I did send an e-mail to another upholstery company and they rersponded with a picture of a sample. They claim it was a 1978 G.M. code and it covers Impala, Malibu, Phoenix, Grand Am and Grand Prix. Does the Impala and the Malibu have the same cloth material as the Pontiac models OR is this cloth used as a "close" replacement? I haven't seen many 1978 Malibus.
