I like coming up on my car and seeing it with fresh eyes
I mean , you know what your car looks like obviously but sometimes you turn a corner and see your car in the parking lot and your knee jerk reaction is “ nice car”!
Then you realize it’s yours and the smile gets bigger .
was at the river today with my wild *ss dingo , we had the place to ourselves because the smoky air quality has everyone hiding at home
Walking back to the parking lot I crested the dike and saw my cutlass
Had to stop and take a shot
Everybody chuckles about the guy that has to look back at his car when he walks away from it , ha ha I’m one of them
Who else does this ?

If I had to drive that POS, I'd have to look back in disbelief too. :)

I kid, I kid!!!!!

I always look at a G-body. I don't care who owns it. Even me. I don't even care if they're show worthy or anything. Rust bucket or not, I'm checking it out.

Mines not perfect, but it's hard to believe it's the same car. Catches me by surprise sometimes.

If your ride doesn't make you turn around and look at it, you're driving the wrong vehicle.

My wife was driving a 7 year old 83 cutlass at age 28 when I met her. Enjoyed watching her walk away too in those days.

Many of us spend so much time up close on our projects, walking away from it in a parking lot is the only time we get to see what everyone else sees.

Agreed. I always pick mine apart. All the stuff I haven't done, or needs to be done, or things I did a decade ago when I didn't know any better. Then I see it again and the love comes rushing back.

I think we're all our own harshest critics. I see so much "wrong" with mine, but other people seem to like it...and it's nowhere near as nice as yours. Not even in the same league, IMO.
