i'm swap lt1 instead 307 olds in my 86 regal and i'm wondering can i just buy sending unit from t-type or gn and go with intank pump or i need fuel tank from fi car?

I think it works but you have to keep around a 1/4 to a half tank of gas in it to preserve the fuel pump. I'm going to try it this weekend, I found a sender at the upull it yard and want to get away from my external Holley.

I JUST GOT A SENDER AND PUMP FOR A 4.3 MONTE TBI. I AM GOING TO USE THE ORIGINAL MONTE TANK FOR THE CARBED 305. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ, IT SHOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM WITHOUT THE BAFFLES IN THE TANK. YOUR FLOAT BOWLS ARE FULL OF GAS AND SHOULD CARRY THE ENGINE UNTIL THE PUMP MAKES IT UP. I'M SURE YOU WOULDN'T WANT TO RUN THE TANK DOWN TOO FAR. I KNOW SEVERAL PEOPLE WITH THIS SAME SET UP AND HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS.
