So here are a couple of pictures of the floor of my 85 monte. I also have more pictures in my gallery, so please check them out. My question is this. Is my only option to go with cutting out this piece and getting a whole new oem PS floor pan from OPGI? The passenger side is by far worse than the DS, but I feel that if I do one side, I may as well do both; that would just be silly not to. I am also curious about this POR15 product. I feel though as if I am way past that point. So I welcome your opinions and suggestions. What are my options?

The pictures in my gallery are very high resolution and very very detailed, so I figured I wouldn't clutter up the forum page itself.
 
Hey, believe me when I say, I know what you're going through... I discovered the same problem in my GP just the other week.

On the passenger side, my floor condition looks very similar to your's. The seam where the floor meets the firewall has started to rott away and left a few open holes where water is dribbling in. The heater box is definetly a place to look for this.

On the driverside, there is a small leak from the A-pillar down to the front fender, between the door. I have yet to open it up and see exactly where.

My personal opinion:
if you're rear floors are fine, I would just recommend cutting and welding in a new piece of sheet metal. These cars have nice big floor panels, so it's not so tricky to just do a custom job. Are there any garage near your place with classic restoration experience?
 
Not that I know of about the garages.... I would hate to bring it somewhere and then for them to half a@@ it. That sort of thing would just kill me.
 
yeah, you definately have some work. You need some skills and a welder to repair that section of floor though

You could always take a welding class. If you are into cars, it is a skill you will use for the rest of your life. I say wire wheel, cut and weld that floor.
 
Your problem is not the floor boards.

Your problem is where the floor boards are rusted bad, there are body mounts.

There is a good chance your mount locations are rotted and there is nothing holding your body to the chassis.

A floor board can be fixed many different ways if you do not have a welder. Fiberglass, a stop sign with pop rivits and some silicone.

The mounts are next to impossable to fix and they don't make aftermarket sheet metal mounts
