Ships Ahoy

Looks can be deceiving, but, red ship appears more heavily laden while it is also the one pushed backwards in the collision. Who knows what respective tonnage was, but, it makes one assume the red ship was reversing thrust while the other made no attempt to slow/reverse.

I thought on initial impact the red ship made the black one its b*tch.

I can't decide. That black ship ran pretty far toward the shore without making a sound that I could hear.

There is a repetitive beeping (collision alarm?) but you're right, no whistles and I can't tell if Florence Spirit is giving any visual indications -- shapes and/or flags -- that she has a problem (IF she was experiencing a problem). The videos don't show the yardarms of the other ship so can't say anything about her, either

I should probably explain that last career was as US naval officer; amidst spending time at a bunch of training commands, spent 18 months as a combat systems guy on a destroyer (normal underway watch was Officer of the Deck) and 24 months in Reactor Department on an aircraft carrier (normal underway watch was Propulsion Plant Watch Officer for one of the reactors)

... and as you jump to conclusions, no, "popeye" has no connection to my naval career
