Bill, what's involved when it shifts from 2nd to 3rd that could be causing the studder
I think thats a given GP.....

the reason I asked is that I thought you would have had some reasoning behind your suggestion to try sea foam

When my convertor went, it slipped like a rubber band, worse at launch. Then just shifted shitty in all gears. That is what happens with a cheap high stall generic POS with slicks.

Usually, questions have question marks after them to signify that they are in fact questions...not just statements, correct?

I would say that poor fluid movement, lower pressures, etc can cause this experience during a shift...and cleaning the internals of the trans can only have positive affects in this case.

low pressures cause shuddering, I have never heard that one before. I always read low pressure in one or two gears will cause late soft shifts or no shifts and it's usually caused by a seal or gasket that is leaking.

Sounds logical to me. I had an OZ trans that would slip and slide through the gears. I tore it down and found the regulator spring installed incorrectly. It didn't shudder but sure did make it sloppy and glazed the 2nd apply band and clutch plates

just a shot in the dark but have you checked your crank endplay? i had a old g20 van that shuddered bad and come to find out the thrust bearing on the crank was bad and had alot of movement .just a thought ?

Anubis it is the OZ trans, and no i didn't check the crank but as of right now it's too cold for me too check it out, so it shall wait

the only other thing ive noticed is that the shift selector is off only goes down to 2 but that's 1 then d is 2 OD is 3 N/OD is OD lol but that's an easy fix i suspect the transmission shift linkage was played with trying to alter the shift points or something stupid, i hate when people just don't leave self adjusting sh*t alone, and follow instructions, but other than that it shifts fine unless i punch it then it shifts late like 5800, but during normal driving, or manually switching gears it's fine, I'm goin to try the trans tune first, if that doesn't help, ill check the insides again but like i said it was pretty clean when i changed the filter and fluid, tho you can never tell unless you open it up :|
