Side exit exhaust - FINISHED

That looks great! I'd like to see some pics of under the car.

I finally got the exhaust finished and bolted in. Should have plenty of ground clearance....compared to my last setup that was literally ripped off.

I used band clamps for the pipes between the muffler and exits. Should make removal next time easier and seal up the joints that aren't a perfect fit. The pipes after the mufflers are just remnants of 3" exhausts I had laying behind the garage. I got lucky that the bends were damn near spot on. Once I made the exits I decided to keep the rest of the setup as low buck as possible so new pipes with proper bends were out of the picture.

Im hoping to fire it up tonight. Im sorry for the lack of pics. Once I get going on something its hard for me to stop for things like pictures, documentation, bathroom breaks, etc...

I have never liked the factory style Monte SS exhaust, seeing two feet of tailpipe running under the rear quarter panel IMO takes away from the rest of the car.

Back in 1985-87 it was cool. The LX5.0 exhaust did the same thing. We even polished it with a rag to make it extra shiny. I don't know why we all though it was cool, but we all thought it was cool.

I distinctly remembering mumbling under my breath in the mid 80's "that looks cool". Maybe we were being bombarded with subliminal messaging?

That turned out great. Do your cutouts dump before or after your xpipe?

Imagine the wall of sound and CO aimed at the ricer next to you at the Green Light Drags.

Before. The cutouts are about as close to the header collector as possible.

Well I started it up for the first time last night but forgot to thread my o2 sensor back in so I had a leak there. I also have 2 bad power steering leaks. That whole system is new so I get to see where I screwed up.

For the 30 seconds it was running it sounded awesome! Definately motivates me to finish the rest of it.
