Did you consider getting a woodgrain one and using silver dye OR plastic compatible spray paint? That may be the easiest. I wanted one for my 84 GP and the only one found was too beat up. Also, 78-81 had the wipeswitch on the dash. 82-87 has the wiper switch on the steering coulmn, so I had that problem too.

I did consider that but I can't think of any silver/chrome paint that doesn't look like crap. Then Longroof79 mentioned someone useing mylar tape that looks like the TransAm engine turned dash. I use that stuff on the Firebird console shifter bezel, as well as the TA hood scoop door. Looks great but then after looking at a GP dash there's a ton of trimming and fitting involved,it's a very busy surface. That would be a last resort. I'll just keep my eyes open, something will turn up.

Here's a pic of a Grand Prix for sale somewhat local to me with the silver dash..listed as an 83 with buckets console and black interior...no motor

If he parts it out I would want the dash bezel.

He's about an hour from me..out on the prairies here in Saskatchewan..that's a good Sunday drive. He's asking $500 for the car..says the body's done. I'll keep his number and see what happens.

I like the silver dashes but they are far too hard to find. I plan to apply brushed aluminum vinyl decal over my wood grain to get a similar look (I originally planned engine turned for a performance pontiac look but changed my mind). This will also give me the ability to cover over the AC vents since I went non-AC last year. You can find the vinyl on e-bay fairly cheap. You should try it and post pictures so I can see how it looks. I'm just saying...

I have a small piece left of prism-like engine turned decal I found ages ago. I used most of it up on shifter bezels and I have a functional TA hoodscoop I did the flap with it too. I haven't seen anything like it since.
